Thirteen French cantons have been scanned for the whole XIXth century (north and north-east areas of the department of Seine-et-Marne). It corresponds to an amount of 248 towns.
Seven family groups have been initially defined by the authors. They are all linked with a very great probability. E.g., the 4th group has been already linked to the 7th one as a clue. The founder couples are known as follows:
Group #1: HOUDRY Nicolas François (#1718-1758 Jouy-sur-Morin) and FRISSON Marie Anne (?-1778/1809), area of Jouy-sur-Morin, 108 HOUDRY and 61 married people.
Group #2: HOUDRY Nicolas (#1697-1779 St-Rémy-de-la-Vanne) and LOMBART Marguerite (?-1729 St-Rémy-de-la-Vanne), areas of St-Rémy-de-la-Vanne and Choisy-en-Brie, 63 HOUDRY and 43 married people.
Group #3: HOUDRY Anthoine (<1650->1683) and SIMONNET Louise (<1650->1683), area of St-Rémy-de-la-Vanne, 43 HOUDRY and 20 married people. ** AUTHORS' GROUP **
Group #4: linked to the Group #7.
Group #5: OUDRY Rémi (<1645->1670) and MAGNELET Anne (<1645->1670), area of Pontcarré, 33 HOUDRY and 17 married people.
Group #6: HOUDRY Pierre (#1709-1788 Chailly-en-Brie) and LOUIS Marie Louise (#1715-1769 Chailly-en-Brie), areas of Chailly-en-Brie, Boissy-le-Châtel and St-Augustin, 134 HOUDRY and 80 married people.
Group #7: HOUDRY Jean (<1700-1700/29) and ADNOT Marie (<1700-1700/29), area of St-Siméon and Chauffry, 190 HOUDRY and 121 married people.
